Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions families ask most, so you can feel confident from the start.
Getting Started
Yes and there's no cost or obligation. Tell us about your loved one and what they need. Our team reviews everything ahead of time so your first conversation is personal and gets right to what matters. From there, we'll help you find the right level of support.
No. Wellby provides non-medical home care, so no prescription or pre-authorization is required. Reach out whenever you're ready. We'll take it from there.
It starts with a conversation about who your loved one is, how they spend their days, and what matters most to them. From there, we build a plan specific to them. As things change, the plan changes with them. We review it regularly and adjust whenever your family's needs evolve.
We move as quickly as possible. Many families begin receiving care within a few days of their consultation. Every situation is different and we'll be transparent about what to expect from the start.
We provide non-medical home care. That includes personal care, companionship, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, mobility support, transportation, and more. Whether your loved one needs help with a few daily tasks or around-the-clock support, we tailor care to fit their life. Not the other way around.
During your consultation, we walk you through what your loved one's care will look like day to day, how billing works, and how to reach us. You'll feel confident and prepared before anything begins.
Our Caregivers
Yes. Every caregiver is a W-2 Wellby employee, not an independent contractor. That means we carry workers' compensation and liability insurance and we handle all employment obligations. You're never exposed to the risks that come with hiring privately or through contractor-based agencies.
Every caregiver goes through a comprehensive screening process that includes in-depth interviews, criminal background checks, reference verification, skill assessments, drug screening, and verification of required certifications. Every step matters. Only candidates who clear every step are eligible to provide care.
Yes. Our caregivers hold current First Aid and CPR certifications. If something happens, they're trained to act quickly and keep your loved one safe until help arrives.
We stay involved after care begins. That means regular supervisory visits, reviewing care notes, and evaluating caregiver performance on an ongoing basis. If something isn't working, we hear about it quickly and address it. Your family gets regular updates so you always know how your loved one is doing.
Every caregiver goes through structured onboarding that covers everything from Wellby's care standards to safety protocols and how to document visits. They receive ongoing training after that with regular oversight to make sure standards stay consistent.
Scheduling & Flexibility
We offer flexible scheduling whether you need a single visit, overnight care, or full-time live-in support. We'll walk you through options and any scheduling details during your consultation.
Anytime. Your loved one's needs may evolve and their care should too. A simple call is all it takes to adjust the plan.
No long-term contracts. You can pause or stop services at any time with 24 hours' notice. If you're on a recurring billing schedule, let us know at least 24 hours before your next billing date so we can stop future charges.
Yes. We offer after-hours and weekend support so you're never left without a way to reach us. For urgent care concerns, call our support line and a team member will respond promptly.
Call or email us and a care supervisor will follow up directly. Every concern is reviewed personally. Depending on the situation we may adjust the care plan or arrange additional training. If needed, we'll match your loved one with a new caregiver.
Billing & Payment
What you pay depends on the care plan we build together and the level of support your loved one needs. After your consultation, we provide a personalized quote so you know exactly what to expect. No hidden fees, no surprises.
Payments are made by credit card, debit card, or digital wallet through Stripe, a globally trusted payment provider that handles billions in transactions each year. Your card numbers and bank details are never stored by Wellby.
Never. All payments are handled through your invoice. You'll never need to exchange money with your caregiver. It keeps things simple and professional for everyone.
Wellby is private-pay only. We do not accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid at this time. The benefit of this model is that your care is never delayed by claim approvals or limited by coverage rules. You get exactly the support your family needs on your timeline.
Privacy
Wellby does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We share information only when necessary to provide your care, such as with your assigned caregiver or as required by law. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.
