Five questions to help us understand what would actually help.
No one will follow up unless you ask.
Three things competitors usually don't publish.
Most home care websites send you to a phone call before they say anything about cost. We post rate ranges. You can plan a budget without a sales call.
Wellby caregivers are our employees, not gig workers. We carry workers' comp, payroll taxes, and a bond. That protects your loved one and the caregiver.
Wellby isn't a national franchise. The person who answers your call is on the same team that recruits and supervises your caregiver.
Quick answers about how Wellby's pricing works.
Yes, slightly. Plans of 20 or more hours per week have a 3% lower hourly rate, 40 or more have a 5% lower rate, and 80 or more have a 7% lower rate. It applies automatically to every visit that week. The base starting rates are $40, $45, and $50 per hour for Companion, Personal, and Specialized Care.
Companion care is the lower-priced tier because the tasks involved, like meals, errands, and conversation, don't require hands-on health care training. Personal care is priced higher because it adds bathing, dressing, mobility, and other tasks that need a caregiver with more training.
Weekend and holiday rates are slightly higher because we pay our caregivers more for those shifts. Overnight care also runs at a different rate. Your care coordinator will walk through any premium hours before you sign.
Most long-term care insurance policies cover Wellby. We support common carriers and can help you submit visit records and timesheets to your carrier each month.
Companion Care covers meals, light housekeeping, errands, transportation, and conversation. Personal Care adds hands-on help with bathing, dressing, mobility, and toileting. Many families start with Companion Care and add Personal Care later.
Companion caregivers can give medication reminders but don't administer medications. If someone needs medication administered, that's Personal or Specialized Care.
Each visit is at least 4 hours. There's no minimum number of hours per week, so you could book one 4-hour visit per week if that's what fits.
Yes. We can schedule a Companion-style visit on quieter days and a Personal Care visit on bath days. We bill by the actual hours and the level of care delivered.
Most Personal Care plans run 15 to 25 hours per week, split across 3 to 5 visits. Families with two or more daily care needs tend to be on the higher end.
Personal Care caregivers have Arizona-required training plus extra Wellby-specific training. They aren't nurses. For medical tasks like wound care or injections, you'd need a home health agency, often working alongside us.
Specialized caregivers complete dementia-specific training and post-acute care protocols on top of standard Personal Care training. We also do tighter supervision and shorter rotation cycles to reduce caregiver fatigue.
It can, but most Specialized plans start at 25 to 35 hours per week with family covering the rest. We help you map the week, including the times of day that need a caregiver most.
We aim to have a caregiver in the home within 24 to 48 hours of a discharge call. Some plans start day-of when we have the right caregiver available.
No. The first conversation with a Wellby care coordinator is free, whether you do it by phone or in your home.
For most plans, the first caregiver visit is within 72 hours of the initial assessment. Specialized care or unusual schedules can take a few extra days while we match the right caregiver.
Every visit is at least 4 hours. We've found that shorter visits don't give the caregiver enough time to build rapport, handle the bath, prep a meal, and tidy up. There is no minimum number of hours per week.
No script, no pressure. We'll answer your questions, walk through your plan together, and be honest about whether Wellby is the right fit for your family.
